Transition Training Academy Award
July 1, 2007
Inverness Technologies is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a new contract by Department of Labor, Veteran’s Employment and Training Service to support the Transition Training Academy, a pilot project at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA. Started by Cisco Systems and DOL VETS, this program is designed to assist wounded and injured service members in obtaining new skills or enhancing current skills so that they can find suitable and rewarding employment upon leaving the medical facility and exiting active duty service in the armed forces. Using state of-the-art instructor led eLearning developed by CISCO Systems, Inc. and Teachers Without Borders, this program provide a non-traditional classroom training format to recovering service members. The goal is to prepare recovering service members for transition to further education, job training and placement and to expand and replicate this program to other military medical facilities. The program is also designed to demonstrate the value and viability of public-private cooperation in developing program partnerships to effectively deliver program services to our recovering service members. Several public and private agencies have already contributed valuable support to this program.
